The saying goes “You can’t take the dumb out of a dummy.” I think that’s right, anyway , when it means it will cost you $10,000, he better learn quick. Here’s another example of not knowing the consequences of being an idiot. Drywall is lined with paper. Paper and moisture do not mix, hence the mold growing behind the walls in this beautiful finished basement. Can you imagine spending the money on this and in turn have to rip it out just because this contractor, and I use the word loosely, didn’t know enough to buy the correct backer board for the job. (A total of $100 would be the amount boys and girls) A good reference to how the proper installation of a pan liner is here. I’ve repaired at least 50 shower pans in five years and all because of improper installation of the liner and backer board.

Good point! I love meaningfull blogs… I’ve been having trouble producing good content for mine (http://tb-construction.net/blog). I’m a Remodeling Contractor serving Ann Arbor Michigan and I keep running out of ideas. Sorry about the self promotion 😉 but I will keep checking back for ideas.
