A Few Words About Me
Amanda is a Senior Interior Designer with nearly a decade of design experience. She is employed by TVI Inc (Tom Verwest Interiors) a well established and highly regarded interior design firm in Royal Oak, Michigan. Whether the project is a new construction, a home remodel or a room by room design, she incorporates a fresh approach using classic design principles to navigate her clients’ goals and ideas to fruition. As a Senior Designer, Amanda looks after specific design duties including coordinating selections and finishes, product purchases, as well as general consulting on any design projects, paying special attention to outstanding customer service. Amanda is well versed in working alongside general contractors who manage the project making sure all aspects of the approved design, including specifications and design drawings, are executed in a well thought out, efficient manner.
Amanda is a qualified Interior Designer with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Interior Design from a FIDER (Foundation for Interior Design Education Research) accredited school, at Michigan State University. She began working her career as a junior interior designer with TVI, Inc working for four years alongside Architects and builders on model homes with a senior designer. These homes started with breaking ground and included everything from floor plan reviews to staging the home to sell. Several of those homes were showcased in southeastern Michigan’s “home-a-Rama program.” This process taught her the importance of listening to the client’s concerns and wishes and to pay close attention to detail.
Amanda helps her clients to define their goals, assign a realistic timeline, and works diligently to achieve her client’s satisfaction. She offers a wide range of programs and services that are flexible to both her client’s needs and their budget. Given the current state of our economy, Amanda is currently focusing mainly on remodels and is looking forward to getting back into new construction while applying new aspects of green design. Amanda attributes her success to working with talented trades people and wonderful clients; and most importantly being associated with a strong, supportive and brilliant design firm.
Passionate about growth in the future and its possibilities, Tom Verwest Interiors provides interior design services that help their clients achieve style, functionality, and education on quality of products and brands. Amanda has been published in publications such as “Detroit Home” and “Builder Architect” magazines as well as periodical magazine editorials and radio interviews. She prides herself in respecting her client’s budgets and humbles herself with projects of all shapes and sizes.
A big believer in charity, Amanda supports and works with the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation, the Make a Wish Foundation, Looking for my sister, St. Ann’s Food bank, Barbara Ann Karmanos Institute, Sweet Dreams Project, to name a few and is enthusiastic about giving back to her community in any way she can.
